Dallas Billionaire Guiding Nonprofits Into the Digital Age
Todd Wagner, formerly a partner of Mark Cuban with Broadcast.com and other ventures, has set his sights on the nonprofit fundraising world.
According to the Dallas Morning News, he is warning nonprofits to adapt to new technology or face shutting down.
“Technology is a freight train coming down a mountain. It is not going to stop. It’s only going to go faster. And either nonprofits embrace it or they get run over by it.”
Not one to bring problems without offering solutions, he formed Chideo: The Charity Network, which helps nonprofits with online auctions, produces video and other broadcast content, and puts actionable data behind digital nonprofit fundraising efforts. Partners include the Sinclair Broadcast Group, Tribune Co., The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Twitter and Delta Air Lines.
“If you know 20 people who will each write a million-dollar check, good for you. But for everyone else, you need digital.”
